Instructions

    • 1

Remove the flan from the oven. Place the entire dish onto the cooling rack for 30 minutes to an hour. Do not remove the flan from the pan at this time. Feel the sides of the pan to test for doneness.

    • 2

Cover the pan tightly with plastic wrap. The plastic wrap cannot touch the top of the flan.

    • 3

Place the covered dish in the refrigerator for 4 hours.

    • 4

Remove the flan from the refrigerator and unwrap it. The dessert should be firm and cold to the touch.

    • 5

Loosen the cheesecake flan from the sides of the pan. Slide the knife into the flan, but against the side of the pan. Slowly slide the knife around the entire pan. Place the platter on top of the pan.

    • 6

Slowly turn the pan and platter until the platter is on the bottom. Place platter--with the pan still on top--onto the table or counter. Wait a few seconds and then slowly remove the pan. A glass cake pan is best for this maneuver, because you can see when the flan releases onto the platter

    • 7

Pour the remaining juices on top of the cheesecake flan. Cut carefully and serve on the dessert plates.
