The word calligraphy means "beautiful writing," and many people are learning this art form. There are many different styles of letters, and each style is made by holding the pen in different positions. Here's how to make the Italic Minuscules lowercase letters.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Write a "q." Place the pen on the paper, pull it toward the right into a "u," then pull the pen down and to the right. Put the pen left of the flag just made and pull it toward the left to connect. Place the pen where the u starts and pull to the right to complete the "q." Make the "r" next. Place the pen on the paper, make a small line before pulling the pen down, then pull it back up and around to make a small arch to make the "r."

  2. Step 2

Complete the "s." Put the pen on the paper, pull the pen around to the right, then to the left as you pull it down. Place the pen to the left of where you stopped, and pull it to the right until the lines connect. Put the pen at the beginning and pull it to the right to finish the "s." Make the "t." Place the pen on the paper, pull up then straight down, then make a small hook. Put the pen on the line even with the tail and pull to the right to complete the "t."

  3. Step 3

Write the "u." Put the pen on the paper, make a small line, then pull the pen down, around and up. Next pull the pen down and to the right to make a small line to make the "u." Complete the "v" next. Place the pen on the paper, make a small line before pull the pen down and to the right, leaving a small line. Put the pen to the right of the top of the line just made. Pull it down to the left to connect the lines, finishing the "v."

  4. Step 4

Make the "w." Place the pen on the paper and make a small line before pulling it down and to the right. It should look like a "u," but pull the pen down and leave a small hook. Put the pen to the right of the second line, making sure it's even with the top of the line, then pull the pen down and to the left until the lines connect to finish the "w." Write the "x." Place the pen on the paper, make a small line, then pull it diagonally to the right, making a small hook. Put the pen to the right of the first line and pull diagonally to the left. Place the pen to the bottom left of the line just made and pull the pen to the right until the lines connect. Put the pen at the top of the second line and pull to the right to finish the "x."

  5. Step 5

Make the "y." Place the pen on the paper, make a small line then pull the pen down, around and back down. It should look like a "u" with a long tail. Put the pen to the left of the tail and pull it towards the right to finish the "y." Complete the "z" next. Place the pen on the paper, make a small line upwards then pull the pen to the right, then down diagonally then back to the right.
