Pedal boards are an important piece of equipment for guitar players. Building a pedal board gives the guitar player the opportunity to customize every detail, although a few components are essential to every pedal board. From fuzz effects to echo, the pedal board gives the player a range of audio options.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Choose a board for the pedal board. The board can be built separately or bought from a musical electronics supplier. Most sturdy boards are made of stainless steel, or heavy gauge aluminum. The components should be protected with foam padding to avoid damage.
Step2
Select the proper elements for the power supply. The power supply must be big enough to handle the electrical requirements of the various pedal board components.
Step3
Buy a good surge protector. The surge protector keeps all the electronics from being fried if something should go wrong.
Step4
Get the right AC Adapters for the pedals. If the pedals are new, they will have the adapter included. A universal adapter can be used to retrofit adapters if need be.
Step5
Pick the pedals for your board. The actual pedals are the most important component of the pedal board. You can choose from several options. Always try the pedal live in the music shop before buying.
