The hang glide move in breakdancing requires strength, agility and balance. It adds excitement and finesse to your dancing when you throw in a sudden hang glide. But you'll need to learn basic breakdancing and build up your body strength before going on to this complex move. Once you master the hang glide, you can add your own variations to give it some extra style.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Lean back on your right hand with your palm flat on the floor. You left hand can be on the floor or up in the air.

  2. Step 2

Pull your right leg up so that your knee is bent and in the air, but your foot is flat on the ground.

  3. Step 3

Swing your right hand up in the air and over your body.

  4. Step 4

Follow your right hand with your body until you land on your right hand. Use your left hand to help you balance.

  5. Step 5

Keep the fingers of your right hand straight up so you can spin on the heel of your hand. Keep flipping over and spinning on your hand.

Tips & Warnings
  • It's best to learn the hang glide on a smooth floor. Carpet or a rough floor can easily damage your skin as you rotate your hand.
  • Your legs can be either straight or bent, but most beginning breakdancers find one leg straight and one leg bent to be the most comfortable.
