Playing pool is more fun when you know a few trick shots. No matter what trick you choose, you can expect to hours playing pool before you master it. Here is a sample trick that involves four colored balls and the cue ball. Keep playing with the shot until you master it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Clear the table of the balls except the "1," "2," "3," and "4" balls and the cue ball.

  2. Step 2

Stand at one side pocket of the table. Line up the four balls at the left side pocket straight ahead of you. Put the "1" ball close to the hole. Set the "2" ball next to it. Continue placing the "3" and "4" ball until you have a straight line from the side pocket.

  3. Step 3

Go to the end of the table. You should be looking at the balls in numerical order.

  4. Step 4

Put the cue ball approximately one foot away from the line of balls. It should be set centered on the "2" and "3" balls. The closer the cue ball is to the line of balls, the easier it is to make the trick shot.

  5. Step 5

Hit the cue ball solidly and straight between the "2" and "3" balls. If you put enough power behind the cue ball, the "1" ball should automatically drop in the side pocket. The "2" ball should drop into the far left corner pocket. The "3" ball should travel to the far railing and return to drop into the near left pocket. The "4" ball should drop into the right side pocket.

  6. Step 6

Play this trick shot until you figure out how much spin to put on the cue ball. Two balls, "1" and "2," should drop automatically every time. It's the other two balls that require some practice to make this pool trick work right every time.
