Creating your own wedding centerpiece can add a lovely, personal touch to your wedding. Start with leaves and other greenery to form a base that will show off the flowers in your arrangement.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Container
  • Oasis foam and florist's tape
  • Leaves, ferns and other greenery
  1. Step 1

Choose a container to hold your centerpiece. It should match the color scheme you are using for your wedding and should stand about one-third as tall as the tallest flowers you will be using.

  2. Step 2

Soak the oasis foam with water and use it to fill the centerpiece container. Trim the edges to make sure it fits the container neatly. Make a grid of florist tape over the top of the foam to hold it down.

  3. Step 3

Cut the stems of the leaves or ferns long enough to reach the bottom of the container, adding stability to the arrangement.

  4. Step 4

Begin by creating a layer of glossy green leaves around the base of the foam. Make sure none of the oasis is visible through the leaves.

  5. Step 5

Place shorter leaves and trailing greenery around the edges of the container. Let the trailing greenery hang over the edges of the container to create a natural looking centerpiece.

  6. Step 6

Add gradually taller leaves as you move toward the center of the container. This will create an appealing, rounded shape.
