Things You'll Need:
- Barber shears
- Fine-tooth comb
-
Step 1
Comb the eyebrow with a fine-tooth comb to remove any snarls. This is important if the brows are thickly overgrown. Cutting around small knots can result in a choppy, unflattering look. Run the comb through forward, backward, upward and downward. This method finds even tiny, hidden knots.
-
Step 2
Use your non-cutting hand to comb one eyebrow upward, allowing the longest hairs to escape through the teeth of the comb. Males often have numerous long strands that will poke outward.
-
Step 3
Trim the exposed hairs by cutting close to the comb. The comb protects the person's face and keeps you from cutting the hair too short. Brush away any hairs that land on the person's face so they don't land in an eye or cause sneezing at an inopportune moment.
-
Step 4
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you remove any hair that extends beyond the comb.
-
Step 5
Follow Steps 1 to 4 with the other eyebrow. When finished, remove the comb and look closely at the eyebrows. If any long hairs remain, carefully trim each individually.
