If your eye shadow disappears by midday, applying a cream base eye shadow will keep it intact. Basic makeup product provides a needed foundation for a beautiful finished look, and yet you can't even see it once it's applied.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cream base eye shadow
  • Eye shadow
  • Eye makeup brushes
  1. Step 1

Apply a neutral cream base eye shadow shade to each eyelid using a sponge makeup brush.

  2. Step 2

Work quickly but neatly. You should immediately apply powdered eye shadow after you're finished applying your cream base. The makeup base will grab the powdered eye shadow particles, helping your eye shadow to stay put.

  3. Step 3

Avoid getting cream base eye shadow on your eyelashes, but make sure you cover your eyelids and the area under your eyebrows.

  4. Step 4

Blend your cream base eye shadow well.

  5. Step 5

Put on powdered eye shadow immediately after you apply your cream base eye shadow.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid applying cream base eye shadow makeup with your fingers because the heat from your hand will melt the product.
  • Liquid foundation is a good substitute for cream base eye shadow if you run out of the base makeup.
  • Apply cream base eye shadow to just one eye, and then apply powdered eye shadow before moving onto your other eye. This will prevent the base makeup from drying up before you're ready to apply the powdered eye shadow.
