If you want a warm, healthy, sun-kissed glow on your face and neck, try using a bronzer. Bronzers typically come in powder or cream forms. Powder is best for oily skin; cream works well for dry. The key to a natural glow is in the application as well as the product.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large makeup brush
  • Makeup sponge
  1. Step 1

Use a bronzer after first applying your foundation and blush.

  2. Step 2

Apply a brush-on powder bronzer using a large, wide makeup brush. Dab the brush lightly into the powder, blowing off any excess powder from your brush. Begin with your cheekbones. Apply the bronzer as you would blush. Start with the apples of your cheeks and go back to your temple, using a circular motion.

  3. Step 3

Brush a light coating of bronzing powder onto your forehead, down the sides of your nose and under your lower lip. This thins your nose and makes your lips appear larger.

  4. Step 4

Bring your brush down to your jawline. Apply it in a circular motion along your jawline and below your chin for a defined profile.

  5. Step 5

Consider applying a light brush of bronzer to your neck, upper chest area and shoulders for an even, natural-looking glow.

  6. Step 6

Exfoliate your skin before using a cream bronzer. Then apply using a sponge or your fingers, being sure to blend it into your skin for a natural look. Apply a cream bronzer to the same areas as a powder bronzer, but not too heavily.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose a bronzer with a slight shimmer for a luminous look.
  • Avoid shades that are too dark or orange. These make your skin appear unnatural, similar to a fake tan.
  • Avoid contact between the bronzer and your eyes or clothing.
