1
Hold a cookout. One of the most popular ways to celebrate Labor Day is to host or attend a cookout. Plan to cook burgers and hot dogs on the grill and serve picnic favorites like coleslaw, potato salad and corn on the cob.
-
2
Make a Labor Day feast. If the weather is bad, you can still entertain and party indoors. Use your broiler or indoor grill to serve Labor Day favorites.
-
3
Spend the weekend at the beach. Labor Day may be the last opportunity that you have to enjoy the beach. Fight the traffic and the crowds to spend the final days of summer at the shore.
-
4
Take time to relax. You can celebrate Labor Day by enjoying some downtime activities, like watching a movie or reading a book.
-
5
Create Labor Day themed crafts. If you have children at home, you can work together to create Labor Day craft projects. Since Labor Day celebrates workers, you can pick a profession and make a collage that represents this profession.

I think the comments people left on this article were more informative than the article itself. I have read several member-written articles that happened to give great information about the labor movement, various activities (not listed here), and the transition from summer to fall... c'mon guys, lets get creative! -

I read this article thinking perhaps I might learn something or hear a new idea. No, it was stuff I already knew. The activites listed here are things you can do anytime. I know I can relax and read a book. I can do that anytime, I don't need a holiday to do this. Also, I would avoid the beach on Labor Day. Why not go to the beach another day? In southern California, it will still be warm enough to go to the beach after Labor Day.
