Step 1
Choose your method of Moxibustion, indirect or direct. The direct method rolls the dried leaves of the wormwood tree into a cone, which is placed on the skin. The more modern, indirect method involves heating the acupuncture needle with an electrical source or by placing the cone over the needle.

Step 2
Research certifications or licenses you may need to purchase acupuncture and Moxibustion tools. Check with your local acupuncture licensing board for the requirements.

Step 3
Purchase dried wormwood leaves. Wormwood is also known as Artemisia Absinthium, and is used as a moth repellent, so check gardening stores for the leaves. They are also available from many online sources, such as Golden Harvest Organics.

Step 4
Consider the other applications for wormwood leaves. They can be used to make an herbal tea, but you must meticulously follow the instructions for the tea making. Wormwood oil can be toxic when used incorrectly or ingested in large quantities.
