Compression shorts are specially designed garments for athletes. Males can wear them to help support their genitals during vigorous activities, but compression shorts are also designed for female athletes. These shorts are breathable and keep athletes dry by wicking sweat away from the thighs and upper leg. Compression shorts also keep the muscles of the upper legs stable during physical exertion such as twisting and stretching. Your own physical measurements determine which size of compression shorts to wear.

Place one end of the measuring tape on the front of your waist just underneath your stomach and above your hips.

Wrap the measuring tape around your waist until it meets the beginning. Make sure it is parallel to the floor, is fully in contact with your body and is not pulled tight enough to compress your skin.

Read the measurement on the measuring tape. If your waist is 28 to 32 inches around, your shorts size is approximately Small. If your waist is 32 to 36 inches around, your size is Medium. Large is 36 to 40 inches, and X-Large is 40 to 44 inches. Some males above 44 inches can wear size XX-Large shorts if they are available in your brand.
