How to Be Glitter Goth

The gothic subculture consists of people who wear dark, often black, clothing and listen to music that reflects their despair and hopelessness. Often misunderstood, the gothic culture isn't defined by devil worship and violence. A branch of the goth culture, glitter goth, shows subtle differences with a slightly lighter look.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Sprinkle lightweight glitter into your hair and hold it in place with hair spray. You can use hair gels with glitter already added to them instead if you prefer.
Step2
Make your skin sparkle with mica powder. Brush on a mica-based face powder all over your face to add a glitter goth look to your skin.
Step3
Apply eye makeup in light and dark shades, especially pink. Dip your applicator into some water before you apply the shadow for a more dramatic glitter goth effect.
Step4
Produce a shimmery effect on your eyelids and your eyebrows. You can use the mica powder with a wet brush. You also can get a liquid containing suspended glitter that dries clear to accentuate the glitter goth look.
Step5
Place sequins and acrylic jewels on your body. Attach the jewels with eyelash glue or liquid latex.
Step6
Paint your nails with a clear nail polish and sprinkle ultra-fine glitter over them before they dry. You can also paint your nails with sparkly polish that has the glitter already in it.
Step7
Act like you're angry and disappointed with your life to be glitter goth. Wear black clothes along with a few bright colors. Listen to dark, moody music alone or with other goths who share the opinion that you are all grossly underestimated.
