How to Be Hot and Popular While Wearing Glasses and Braces

Some people may feel that it is impossible to be hot and popular while wearing glasses and braces. However, glasses and braces have come a long way in looking hip and stylish in the last few decades, and the old stereotype of looking like a nerd or dork no longer applies.

Instructions

    • 1

Select frames that are the right size and shape for your face. You don't need to settle for thick, monochrome frames. Most people consider glasses a part of the outfit just as much as the clothes they wear.

    • 2

Opt for a bold color or distinctive shape of frame. Don't hide the fact that you wear glasses; use it as a chance to demonstrate your savvy sense of style. If you are overly concerned about the way you look in glasses, purchase thin, plastic frames that practically disappear into your face.

    • 3

Ask your orthodontist which braces are right for you. Metal braces are a popular, less expensive choice, and they are much smaller than they used to be. However, they are also boring and obvious. If you choose to wear metal braces, don't hide behind them. Have fun and request colored bands.

    • 4

Consider clear, ceramic braces if you are concerned about cosmetic appearance. Although ceramic braces are much harder to detect, they are also more fragile and prone to stains. You can also choose lingual braces, which hide behind the teeth.

    • 5

Live by the adage that "beauty lies within." If you are confident and present yourself with pride and assurance, you can be hot and popular while wearing glasses and braces.
