1
Respect the rules that the parents establish. It is challenging to do something for someone else's child that you may not do for your own, but you must remember that it is your job to do what they ask of you.
-
2
Interact with the children. Teach them how to tie their shoes and play games with them. Children know the difference between someone who genuinely cares about them and someone who pretends to care for them to get a paycheck.

3
Be attentive. Removing outside distractions is part of your responsibility as the perfect nanny. Leave the TV off and put your cell phone away. It is your job to pay attention to the children at all times. Keep them entertained, fed and comfortable. If they show any signs of illness, react immediately.
-
4
Show up on time. The family you work for counts on you to do what you say you are going to do.
-
5
Go beyond the call of duty when possible. If the children are watching a movie or taking a nap, take a minute to load or unload the dishwasher, break out the vacuum cleaner or fold laundry.
-
6
Communicate with the parents. Let them know what the children did each day, including any concerns you may have about them. Be sure to communicate openly about your needs as well. If you need a day off, give them as much notice as possible.
