Step1
Make sure that you have all your school supplies. If you have received a list of school supplies, buy the items on the list. If you don't have a list of required school supplies, purchase basic supplies such as notebooks, pens and pencils to get you through the first day.
Step2
Pick out your outfit the night before. This will save you valuable time in the morning because you won't have to try on multiple outfits. Choose an outfit that you feel comfortable and good in.
Step3
Be familiar with your school building. Know where your homeroom and your classrooms are located, so you don't get lost. You may also want to know the locations of the library, the cafeteria and the gymnasium.
Step4
Study your class schedule. You won't be surprised on that first day of school if you already know what classes you are taking, when they meet and your teachers' names. Bring a copy of your schedule to refer to as needed.
Step5
Allow enough time to get to school and arrive a few minutes early. Try a test run before the first day to determine how much time you need to arrive at school on time. If you plan to ride on a school bus, make sure that you know the location of your bus stop and the pickup time.
Step6
Get a good night's sleep. Aim for at least 8 hours. If you get enough sleep, you will be awake and alert for the new school day.
