How to Be Strange
Strange can be good or bad. The man talking to himself on the subway has a strange vibe, but there is also the strange, somewhat amusing behavior of eccentric old millionaires who leave their wealth to their beloved pets. You can be strange by taking stock of what society deems normal and taking a different path.

1
Observe the normal behavior around you, and make a note of what is considered strange in your society.
-
2
Create a motto. Use something simple like a motto to stop caring what other people think of your actions, or something as complex as a list of commandments you promise to adhere to when you become strange.
-
-
3
Make a pledge to be a harmless strange person. Strangeness can manifest itself in many different forms, and you should always avoid being harmful to yourself or others, and avoid breaking laws to be strange.
-
4
Go against the grain. Break the written and unwritten societal rules that surround us all. These can be the rules about being quiet and still when you are in the elevator or the rules about what constitutes normal behavior in public.
-
5
Revert back to your childhood. Sing at the top of your lungs for no reason, make engine noises when you get bored or fly around various rooms like an airplane. It is easy to be strange when you make a choice to be more childlike.
-
6
Pick one particular quirk and stick to it. Those we consider strange can sometimes lead normal lives except for that one thing. Be the person who talks to the computer at work, the one who laughs uproariously at everything anyone says or be the guy who talks about himself in the third person.
