How to Become a Fan of a TV Star

You may have entertained a crush on an actor or actress from a television show when you were a child. But identifying yourself as a true fan takes a little more effort and creativity. Find out what it takes to become a dedicated fan of a TV star.

Instructions

1. Watch television series or movies to find an idol. Choose one because you think he's talented, interesting, attractive or admirable.

2. Read entertainment magazines and blogs or watch entertainment news shows for up-to-date information about your idol. Consult websites like the Internet Movie Database to discover other works in which the actor or actress has appeared. The site also includes future projects, photos, quotes, biographies, trivia and articles. (See Resources)

3. Purchase or rent DVDs of the actors' previous shows or movies. Watch the behind-the-scenes footage and listen to the audio commentaries to get their point-of-view on each project.

4. Search the Internet to find the official fan club and join. In addition to information about the actor, the site will most likely offer a contact address where you can send a fan letter. Send some nice comments and you may receive a short note or autographed photo in return.

5. Collect posters, trading cards and magazine covers featuring the TV star. Some may even have unusual memorabilia like bobble heads, comic books, action figures or video games with their likenesses.

6. Start your own fan blog. Include content like a collection of photos, a filmography, references and links to magazine articles, biographical data and a schedule of upcoming TV and movie appearances. Be sure to give credit for the information you acquire from other websites.
