If you love to sunbathe but hate tan lines and hot, expensive swimwear, then you may want to consider heading to a beach that lets your skin breathe as you bare all. You can use your naturist sunbathing as an excuse to take a vacation, or you might just find a nude-friendly beach right in your backyard.

Learn the language. Not all nude beaches are created equal. They can range from "clothing optional" to "topless" to "nude only." Make sure you know what to expect, and what other beach goers may expect of you, before you settle in to enjoy the rays.

Research your destination. While you can expect to find at least partial nudity at many European beaches, especially in France, most American beaches don't welcome topless sunbathers. Search for "US nude beaches" on the Internet to find lists of acceptable locations by state.
