How to Decorate for a Retirement Party

Some retirement parties celebrate the retiree's work with the company, their interests or memories, but, whatever the theme, the decorations should reflect the tone of the celebration.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Gather photographs. According to the theme, these may include just company pictures or images from the retiree's life, including photos of the person as a child and family pictures.
Step2
Decorate a special chair for the retiree. A decorated chair sets the retiree apart from the crowd. Attach a photograph to the back, use spray paint or streamers to make the chair stand out. Fashioning a chair into a throne is a nice touch.
Step3
Consider decorations for a themed party. For example, if you throw a golf-themed party, cover tables with astro turf, set up a putting green for entertainment and use tees as cake decorations. Themes make buying a gift easier too. A new golf club would be perfect for the golf themed party.
Step4
Choose appropriate centerpieces. Centerpieces can be the focus of decorating especially for a dinner party. To carry out the golf theme, make sand trap centerpieces by filling large bowls with sand, adding golf balls, tees, a golfing glove and a few cans of beer.
