-
Step 1
Choose a blank card or cut a piece of cardstock you can fold to fit into a standard-sized envelope.
-
Step 2
Create a design for the front of the card. Combine bits of patterned paper, small photos, stamped images, stickers or dimensional embellishments like ribbon, buttons, chipboard shapes, charms or paper flowers.
-
Step 3
Give the card added visual interest with a border or edges swiped with stamping ink or chalk, dry brushed with acrylic paint or textured with stitching sewn by hand or on a machine.
-
Step 4
Add a message to the inside of the card. Consider a simple stamped phrase, a cute saying uttered by the recipient's child, an inspirational quote about parents, song lyrics or lines from a movie.
-
Step 5
Handwrite an additional sentiment (or at least your signature) below the card's message.
-
Step 6
Decorate the envelope by cutting a coordinating piece of patterned paper to fit inside the flap, addressing it with a colorful pen or stamped letters and sealing it with a sticker or stamp.
