Flower arrangements can be an important part of wedding decor. Creating your own arrangements with silk flowers gives you a beautiful look for your wedding at a low cost. With silk flowers, you can experiment with the design of the arrangements.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look at several styles of arrangements to get an idea of what you want yours to look like. You can get many ideas from bridal magazines and bridal websites like Brides.com.

  2. Step 2

Select the colors and style for your silk flowers. You can buy a few different varieties and experiment with them before you buy in bulk.

  3. Step 3

Choose a container to hold the arrangement. For tall arrangements, use a vase. For shorter, wider arrangements, choose a long basket or bowl.

  4. Step 4

Arrange the silk flowers in the container. For the baskets, you can use florist foam to hold the flowers in place. With the glass vase, arrange the flowers with some greenery and place glass beads in the bottom.

  5. Step 5

Add ribbons and beads to fill holes and add elegance. Experiment with the silk flowers until you get a look you like for your wedding arrangements.

  6. Step 6

Take pictures and make notes of the arrangements you like best. Use these as a recipe to create the rest of your silk flower arrangements for your wedding.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make up some flower arrangements well before the wedding. This gives you time to play with your ideas and fine-tune them before the big day. You can make them well in advance if you can store them without squishing the flowers.
  • Get your family, friends or bridesmaids to help you. The more people you have working on the arrangements, the more ideas you get and the faster it goes.

on 12/5/2008 Very good tips I will have to tell my friend because she was very frustrated about making her own. By the way I found some great premade bouquets at www.qualitysilkplants.com
