Things You'll Need:
- Friend
- Deck of cards
- Table
- Audience
-
Step 1
Take a ten of hearts from the deck and set it face up in the middle of the table.
-
Step 2
Lay out four cards face up in a horizontal line on both sides of the ten of hearts, and then put a card face up underneath the ten of hearts. You should now have ten cards arranged in exactly the same shape as those on the ten of hearts card.
-
Step 3
Tell your audience that your friend can predict what card anyone will pick out of these ten cards. Send your friend out of the room.
-
Step 4
Pick someone out of the audience and tell them to choose a card. After they have done so, send your friend back into the room.
-
Step 5
Point to one of the hearts on the ten of hearts card that corresponds to the card that the person from the audience has chosen from the table. In other words, if they chose the second card on the first horizontal column, point to the second heart on the first horizontal columns of hearts on the ten of hearts, which will indicate to your friend which card on the table is the right card.
-
Step 6
Ask your friend if the person chose this card as you point to the Ten of Hearts, to which he will respond, "No."
-
Step 7
Point to another random card and ask it this card is the card they have chosen. After you have done this 4 or 5 times, then point to the right card. You have already told your friend which card this is, so when you ask him, he will say, "Yes, that is the card."
