Pull backs in tap dancing are a bit of a conundrum. As Dani Rhodes explains, "you have to have all weight on both feet and no weight on no feet at the same time." Confused? Well, this should have you doing double pull backs in no time.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin the double pull back in tap dancing by doing a pliƩ, with both feet facing front and your knees bent.

  2. Step 2

Jump up and backward with both feet.

  3. Step 3

Spank your feet on the ground with your toes as you're in the air. The proper term would be doing brush backs.

  4. Step 4

Land with both feet at the same time.

  5. Step 5

Use your arms to help get you in the air and for balance. Keep your hands in front of you while you're doing the double pull back in tap dancing, as that can help you keep your balance. As you get better at the double pull backs in tap dancing, you'll find you can bend them at the elbows and allow them to be a little more relaxed.

  6. Step 6

Do more than one double pull back in tap dancing in a row, remembering to keep your weight forward and down, and always beginning the double pull backs in a pliƩ.

  7. Step 7

Turn your double pull backs into more by spanking your feet at different times. As you're in the air spank first with your right foot and then with your left foot before landing. It will add a new dimension to the double pull backs in tap dancing.
