How to Do a Maxie Ford Tap Dance Step

The Maxie Ford is a cool tap dance move that adds some pizazz to your tap dancing. What's even cooler is that you can add onto the Maxie Ford by turning it into a double a Maxie Ford and make it even more interesting.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

    Maxie Ford

  1. Step 1

    Start the Maxie Ford tap dance step with your feet side by side.

  2. Step 2

    Step forward with your right foot.

  3. Step 3

    Shuffle with your left foot by scuffing your toe forward and back on the ground with your heel raised. Don't put any weight on your left foot while you shuffle it.

  4. Step 4

    Bring your right foot back and tap with your toe behind your left foot.

  5. Step 5

    Repeat the Maxie Ford by stepping forward again with your right foot.

  6. Step 6

    Reverse the Maxie Ford in tap dancing by starting with your left foot and shuffling with your right.

  7. Step 7

    Add speed to your Maxie Ford in tap dancing. As you do, you'll find yourself hopping after you shuffle to a syncopated beat.

  8. Double Maxie Ford

  9. Step 1

    Start a double Maxie Ford in tap dancing with your feet next to each other.

  10. Step 2

    Begin the double Maxie Ford by shuffling with your right foot.

  11. Step 3

    Shuffle with your left foot.

  12. Step 4

    Tap the toe of your right foot behind your left foot.

  13. Step 5

    Continue the double Maxie Ford in tap dancing until you are able to do the move to tempo.

  14. Step 6

    Reverse the double Maxie Ford in tap dancing by shuffling first with your left foot.
