When you go for a Swedish massage, you may not expect to have your hands worked; however, once you experience this extremely pleasurable hand massage, you will be begging for more. The hands work all day long. And, while you may not notice it, they hold a lot of tension. With a few simple techniques, you can wow your clients, friends or lover with this hand massage.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin the Swedish hand massage with your client face up on the table. Their arm should be resting comfortably at their side.

  2. Step 2

Lift the arm, support their wrist and make sure their elbow is secure on the table so that they can fully relax their arm. With their palm up, hold the wrist with your right hand and intertwine the fingers of your left hand through theirs. That is, with your palm up, slip your pinky and fourth finger through their pinky and forth finger. Hold the hand up as you do the same with your right hand, slipping your pinky and fourth finger through the middle and forefingers..

  3. Step 3

Press your fingers gently into the top of their hand, which is facing down, to open up the palm. Your clients hand should now be gripped firmly in your hands, held open and stretched with your fingers. Your thumbs are now free to work the open palm.

  4. Step 4

Use your thumbs to rub the open palm, working up and down the tendons and making circular motions along the heel, or meaty portion of the hands. This popular Swedish massage technique may feel a bit awkward at first, but with practice, it will become your favorite trick.
