As a woman, you often invest a considerable amount of resources when you buy a business suit and shoes. However, you may overlook the fact that the hose or tights are an important part of the finished look. These items can complement a business suit, but the wrong hose can also detract from the professional look you want to achieve.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look for sheer on the label when buying hoses. A sheer hose gives your legs a slender, glistening look. Your hose are an important accessory to create a professional, polished look when you're wearing a suit. Non-sheer hoses are acceptable if you wear a regular skirt but never wear them with a suit.

  2. Step 2

Make sure that the material isn't thick. A thick hose will make your legs look as if they're painted.

  3. Step 3

Pick a hose that have a reinforced toe. A reinforced toe helps them last longer and prevent snags when putting them on.

  4. Step 4

Blend the color appropriately. Your hose should match either your suit or your skin. For example, if you wear a navy blue suit, you may wear a suntan or nude hose. You may also wear a navy blue hose but make sure that they are sheer.

  5. Step 5

Wear tights with a suit only if they're sheer. If the tights are not sheer, wear them only with a regular skirt.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't wear white or cream hoses or tights with a dark color suit, dress or skirt. Always match them with your clothes or with your skin.
