When you make fettuccine Alfredo, you serve your family a delicious meal. It's simple to make, and once you know how to complete all of the steps in the recipe, you can create this family favorite every pasta night. After you have boiled the pasta, you need to strain it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Put on oven mitts and prepare to move the pot of fettuccine noodles to an empty sink. Prior to this, you should have emptied out the sink and put a self standing strainer inside.
Step2
Drain the pasta into the strainer that you have set aside earlier. Perform this step slowly to prevent burning yourself with the boiling hot water.
Step3
Rinse the noodles with cool water in order to prevent the noodles from continuing to cook.
Step4
Return the fettuccine noodles to the pot. After the noodles have been thoroughly rinsed with cool water, you return them to their original pot. Place a cover over the pasta.
Step5
Prepare the ingredients for your sauce. At this point, you let the pasta sit while you start blending the ingredients for your Alfredo sauce.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a pasta pan with a built in strainer, you can use this to drain out the water from the pot. However, you should still rinse the pasta with cool water afterwards.
  • If you notice that the fettuccine noodles are sticking together, you can use a small amount of butter to separate the pasta.
