Rotate the tires every time you get an oil change. Driving patterns and road conditions that you drive regularly will put more pressure on some tires. Rarely do tires wear evenly.

Keep the tires filled with the proper air pressure. Look inside the driver's side door for the manufacturer's recommended air pressure.

Carry a tire gauge and check your pressure every time you get a car wash. By combining these little tasks, you can remember to do them and avoid a big overhaul of your schedule and your tires.

Look at the wear on the threads when you wash the car too. Sometimes the wear is very obvious and you know you need an overhaul; seeing metal through the rubber is definitely a bad sign.

Get an alignment if you notice that your car drifts when you lighten your grip on the steering wheel. Every time you bump into a curb or experience a slight accident, you throw your tires out of alignment.
