The Card Pointer magic trick uses a key card to mark a card that has been chosen by a friend or fan. This allows you to reveal which card they picked as if by telekinesis. Then you can magically have a spoon point to that card to expose the card to your audience.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Invisible Elastic
  • Deck of cards
  • Friend and/or audience
  1. Step 1

Place invisible elastic around your dominant hand across the palm.

  2. Step 2

Ask your friend to shuffle the cards as much as he want to.

  3. Step 3

Take the shuffled deck of cards from your friend and subtly notice the card at the very bottom of the deck.

  4. Step 4

Spread the cards out in your hand face down so you can not see them and ask your friend to pick out a card. Have him show it to the other people in the room without you seeing what it is.

  5. Step 5

Put the deck of cards face down on the table and tell your friend to place the card he has chosen on top of the deck and have him cut the cards. When he cuts the deck, he will put the card that is the bottom card (which you have taken note of) on top of the card that he has chosen.

  6. Step 6

Fan the deck out on the table with all the cards face up. You will know which card is his because it will be the card directly behind the card that was on the bottom of the deck.

  7. Step 7

Pick up the spoon and stick it into the elastic around your hand without your audience knowing. Place the spoon on the table by the fanned out cards.

  8. Step 8

Concentrate and move your hands around the spoon to maneuver it to move and point to the card he has chosen as if by magic. When the spoon is in position, tell him what card it is pointing to and ask him if that is his card.
