Things You'll Need:
- Eyeliner pencil
- Eyeliner pencil sharpener
- Angled eyeliner brush
- Eye shadow
-
Step 1
Choose the eyeliner pencil color you want to use. Eyeliner colors can be fun--depending on your eye color and hair color, you can wear a number of shades. Black eyeliner looks great on people with dark hair and brunettes and dark blondes can usually wear brown eyeliner well.
-
Step 2
Sharpen your pencil with a sharpener specifically made for eyeliners. Gently rub your index finger over the point so that it turns to a soft nub. Keep an eyeliner pencil sharpener on hand to use as needed.
-
Step 3
Pull your lower lid down gently with your non-dominant hand. Apply the eyeliner to the bottom rim of your eye, starting at your outer crease and move toward the inner crease. Make a series of small marks and connect them as you move along the lash line.
-
Step 4
Dip an angled eyeliner brush into an eye shadow if you prefer not to use a pencil. Eye shadow applied with an eyeliner brush gives your eyes a softer look and can be easier to apply. You also have more color choices with eye shadow.
