Chinese checkers can be a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. Take the time to learn the moves and come up with your own winning strategy. Follow these tips and learn to strategize at Chinese checkers.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Understand the board and the checkers. The board is star-shaped and the star is divided into six triangles and a hexagon middle. The object of the game is to start in one colored triangle and move your checkers straight across to the opposite triangle.

  2. Step 2

Plan your moves before you start. You want to move as quickly as you can to the other side so that your checkers arrive before the other player's checkers move across.

  3. Step 3

Take turns playing your checkers and watch how the other player is moving. Part of your strategy is recognizing the other player's strategy so you can stay one step ahead.

  4. Step 4

Use the other player's checkers to play. Jump over them to further your player. You can set up a line of checkers that connects with their checkers and use the line to make multiple jumps.

  5. Step 5

Block the other player by moving your checkers into the spots that prevent the other player from jumping or moving. You can also move in their way and force them to move out of your way.

  6. Step 6

Set up jumps by moving your checkers into position as you play. You can set them up so that you can make multiple jumps which will move you across quickly.

  7. Step 7

Take the time to plan all your moves and imagine how the board could look one, two or three plays from now.
