Practice makes perfect, especially when it comes to getting down dance moves. The foot drive in hip hop dance is a move that you can bop from side to side when you're getting warmed up to bust a big move or you can just groove to the whole song doing the foot drive. Hit the dance floor in style and practice the moves below.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stand at a normal stance, feet shoulder width apart.

  2. Step 2

Bring both feet in so your toes are pointing toward each other. Keep the knees slightly bent.

  3. Step 3

Going to the right, open your feet up. The left foot will pivot on the toe and the right foot will pivot on the heel. The heel and toe movement is slight, so lift up just a small amount.

  4. Step 4

Pull the toes back in pointing toward each other. Again the left foot pivots on the toes and right foot on the heels.

  5. Step 5

Change direction to the left side. The left foot now pivots on the heel and the right foot pivots on the toes.

  6. Step 6

Bring the toes in, pivoting left on the heel and right on the toes.

  7. Step 7

Switch from left to right repeating Steps 1 through 7.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add an extra drive to one side to change it up a bit. Drive right, left, right-right, then left, right, left-left.
  • Move your arms however you like. You can pump the arms in the direction you're traveling or just hold them up at your chest pumping forward.
