Things You'll Need
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Fluffy towel
- Brush
- Comb
- Soft bands
- Hair styling gel or mousse

Shampoo and condition the hair and blot the excess water out with a fluffy towel.

Brush the hair to remove any tangles and snarls and comb it to make sure any tiny knots are removed.

Work some mousse or styling gel through the hair to make it easier to work with.

Part the hair in the middle with a comb.

Separate a section of hair on one side of the part and twist the hair inwards, towards the scalp, working down the hairline. You can do just a few twists and let the remaining hair hang free or you can continue twisting clear down the hairline, attaching the band when you get to the ends of the hair. Repeat the twist on the other side of the part.

Create a tighter and dressier twist by adding small strands to the twist as you work down the hairline. The resulting look will look similar to a French braid.
