Instructions

    • 1

Comb the hair thoroughly making sure to remove any tangles. Continue combing as you braid. This is especially important when you are reaching the end of the hair.

    • 2

Pick up a section of the hair starting from the crown of the head or front hairline if there are no bangs. The section should be from the outer tip of one eyebrow to the outer tip of the other eyebrow, or about 4 inches.

    • 3

Lift the section of hair by running your index finger about an inch from the edge of the hairline and lifting as you go. This should give you a 4x1 inch section to begin braiding.

    • 4

Part the hair section into three strands. Do this by dividing the hair into three equal parts with your fingers.

    • 5

Begin your braid with these three strands. Braid over the middle with each side strand and stop before you do a second braid section.

    • 6

Pick up a new strand by moving your finger forward to the hair line and weaving a new one inch section of hair into the original piece on one side of the face. Bring the newly combined section over the middle piece. Repeat on the other side.

    • 7

Continue picking up new strands and braiding into old strands until your braid is the desired length.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a comb to help you lift each new section before bringing it into the existing strand.

  • Hold your braid firmly and tightly as you go down. Do not release the hair and be sure to comb out remaining hair as you go.
