Playing with a hacky sack, or foot bag, requires a certain level of skill and coordination. You have to learn how to balance the hacky sack on your feet and learn to bounce it up and down as well. Before you practice with a hacky sack, you may want to learn about the different types of hacky sack games that you can play.

1. Read the instructions that come along with the hacky sack. Some hacky sacks come with a booklet that explains the different games played using the foot bag. You may see suggestions to play a simple game of Kick Back that involves hitting the hacky sack back and forth between players.
2. Watch a group playing with a hacky sack. Groups and partners playing hacky sack will play different games than an individual player. You may see a game of Copycat that has each player copying the other player's moves.
3. Talk to other players. If you want to learn more types of hacky sack games, ask players the games that they know and how to play them.
4. Start playing. As you play, you'll pick up on the different types of games that you can play with a hacky sack. Participate in the simple games that involve passing it back and forth before attempting the games that require fancier footwork.
