Although it's often overlooked, the follow through of a golf swing can improve your game. The follow through not only reflects what's gone on in the swing up to that point, but it also gives you a good, smooth golf swing.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Aim for a smooth movement throughout the golf swing. Your follow through should be as smooth as the back swing. This will help your golf game and protects your body.

  2. Step 2

Keep your club head in an optimum arc. Many golfers lean back after hitting the ball which disrupts this arc. Without the proper arc, your club won't make good contact with the golf ball.

  3. Step 3

Allow your body to follow through on the swing. Your chest must face the target area, your weight should be on the outside foot and the toe of the trailing foot should be pointing toward the ground.

  4. Step 4

Have someone behind you look at your follow through. They should see the three fingers of your gloved hand on the club as you swing.

  5. Step 5

Video tape your golf swing so you can pinpoint problems with your swing and follow through. This way, you can see if your body is in the proper position at impact and during your follow through.

  6. Step 6

Hire a professional golf instructor to help you improve your follow through. A professional can spot problems and helping you improve them. This can be a great option if you can't figure out what you're doing wrong in your follow through.
