Friendship bracelets are easy to make. Before you get started braiding or knotting the bracelet, it's important to make sure you have enough string to work with. Measure your string as described here to make sure you have plenty before you start.

Difficulty: Easy

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Gather materials for the bracelet. Take a piece of string or embroidery floss and wrap it loosely around your wrist two times. This length is long enough for most friendship bracelets.

  2. Step 2

Consider whether you might need another inch or two of string. You might use more if you are giving the bracelet away to someone else whose wrist is larger than you own, or if you like to have more string left over at the end to tie the bracelet onto your friend's wrist.

  3. Step 3

Cut each piece of string for the friendship bracelet. Be careful to make sure that the strings or embroidery floss are about the same length.

  4. Step 4

Finish the bracelet. Pay attention to how much string is left when you are done to gauge if you need less string, more string or about the same length for your next bracelet project.
