To make the best first impression at a beauty pageant, you need to think of more than just your stage presence. You'll be meeting the pageant director, pageant staff and other pageant contestants long before you go on stage. Take advantage of these meetings to showcase your confidence and personality.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Think of the pageant as beginning when you arrive at the pageant site rather than when you take the stage. This puts you in the right frame of mind to make the best impression possible.

  2. Step 2

Keep your head up and make eye contact as you meet other people at the pageant. Good posture and eye contact convey an aura of confidence. The pageant director and staff see you as a potential winner if you have confidence and the other contestants see that you have at least as much of a chance at winning as they do.

  3. Step 3

Engage the people you meet in positive conversation. Being withdrawn when you speak with others may make you look shy or snobbish and neither of these attitudes can help you win the pageant.

  4. Step 4

Smile and let your natural personality through. The best beauty pageant contestant is someone who's always genuine and whose personality is her true beauty.

  5. Step 5

Practice giving a good first impression in all situations, not just at the beauty pageant. Making a good first impression can become second nature with practice and its benefits for your personal life are well worth it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear something that flatters your body and coloring when you arrive at the pageant. The right clothes make you feel more confident and project a better first impression.
