The eyes are the main focal point of the face. Eyeshadow is used to accentuate the color of the iris for a natural look and to hide flaws. Learn how to use the proper tools and techniques to apply eyeshadow under the eyebrow.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose eyeshadow colors that complement your skin tone, eye color and hair color. Fair-skinned women should avoid bold, bright colors and choose a pale palette. Women with a darker complexion and hair color should opt for deeper colors.

  2. Step 2

Apply eyeshadow with the proper makeup brushes. Eyeshadow brushes should have soft but firm bristles. The bristles come in different shapes. Choose a brush based on the part of the eyelid where you're applying the color. Use round-bristled brushes when you apply makeup under the eyebrow.

  3. Step 3

Brush a light color of eyeshadow from the inner corner of the eye up to the brow bone. Follow the arch of the bone to highlight the brow.

  4. Step 4

Blend the brow color gently downward toward the crease of the eyelid. Use your fingertips to blend the colors, as the natural oils on your fingers aid in blending.

Tips & Warnings
  • To intensify eyeshadow color, apply the makeup with a wet brush.
  • Use multiple colors from the same color scheme on the eyelid to properly shape and highlight the area. Apply the lightest shade underneath the brow bone, the medium shade above the lash line and the darkest shade in the crease of the eye.
