Protecting your drumset or any musical instrument is important for keeping it in good condition. Since a drumset has many different pieces, there are various cases that you will need to buy. It depends on how much you travel with your drumset and how much you are willing to spend.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Determine how much you may be traveling with your drumset. The more you travel, the more you might want to think about buying hard cases, which can be more expensive. However, if you plan to travel by air rather than by car with your drumset, hard cases might be a better option considering they will be moved and thrown about in the airport and cargo area.
Step2
Start saving money. Drumsets are expensive by themselves and so are their accessories. If you are willing to spend a bit of money, opt for hard cases. Soft cases are less expensive and you may be able to purchase a few at a time without putting a major dent in your wallet.
Step3
Price cases. You can spend from $100 up to $1,000 dollars, depending upon which cases, hard or soft, and brand you want to buy.
Step4
Handle your own drumset if you travel. If you can't afford hard cases and choose soft cases in the meantime, it might behoove you to handle your drumset yourself.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try looking for cases at music shops that sell used items.
