Magicians sometimes use the Dice Force 7 technique to find a particular card in a deck. You can only use it once per person. This technique uses a force card, or a card that you previously placed where you need it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Deck of playing cards
  • Die
  1. Step 1

Choose the card you want to work with. For this article, let's say we are going to use the Ace of Diamonds. Put it in the deck with six other cards on top of it, so that it is the seventh card from the top.

  2. Step 2

Tell your spectator that you are going to have them predict where the Ace of Diamonds is located in the deck using a die.

  3. Step 3

Ask them to roll the die as many times as they would like, and to let you know when they have chosen which number they have chosen. For example, let's say they settled on the "2" side.

  4. Step 4

Add 2 and the value on the opposite side of the die, which is 5, to get 7. Now, count out the first seven cards from the top of the deck, and of course, the seventh card will be the Ace of Diamonds.

  5. Step 5

Remember that the trick to this technique is that no matter what you roll on a die, the numbers on opposite sides will always add up to equal seven. This is why you can't do this technique with the same person more than once. After the second time, they will catch on.

Tips & Warnings
  • Children will be likely to be particularly impressed with this technique. You might not be able to fool some adults, even on the first try.
