In diabolo juggling, the juggler manipulates an hourglass-shaped diabolo between two sticks. Performing a high toss in diablo juggling isn't difficult, but don't tell anybody, because it's an impressive trick that appears much harder than it actually is. Once you are proficient at the high toss, you will be amazed how high it will go.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get the diabolo moving fast enough so that it's stable and spinning. In order to do an accurate high toss, a good spin is crucial.

  2. Step 2

Hold the sticks slightly above you, pull them apart very rapidly, and don't let the diabolo swing.Toss the diabolo straight up into the air, pulling it outward as you lift it up. Be sure that both sticks are even, and that one isn't higher than the other

  3. Step 3

Point the right stick slightly higher and prepare to catch the diabolo an inch or two away from the end of the stick. If you are left-handed, this step will be reversed, and the left stick will be higher.

  4. Step 4

Watch carefully to be sure the diabolo lands on the string, and just as it lands, loosen the string to catch it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Start out with a low toss and work your way up to a higher toss.
  • If the diabolo is falling behind you, try to reach up and back and see if you can catch the diabolo behind your back.
  • Impress your audience by repeating the trick. Just pull the string tight immediately after you catch the diabolo and toss it back up again. You can do this as many times as you want.
