A juice detox is a popular purification method you can use to cleanse the body of toxins, renew the spirit and even lose a few pounds. It differs from a juice fast in which you consume only fresh juices. If you're doing a body detox with juice, you can also add small amounts of raw vegetables and fruits to your diet.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Prepare your body for the detox experience by eliminating alcohol, nicotine, sugar and caffeine for at least seven days before you begin. Get plenty of water and rest daily.

  2. Step 2

Gather the fruits and vegetables. Organic carrots and tomatoes are popular paired with celery, spinach, kale or cucumber; try seasoning them with garlic or onions. Apple, cranberry and pineapple juices work well, but avoid the highly acidic orange juice.

  3. Step 3

Drink up to 64 ounces of fruit or vegetable juice every day. In addition, drink at least six glasses of lukewarm water daily.

  4. Step 4

Consume only juices and water for the first day. Add in a few solid fruits and vegetables for the second and third days. On ending the detox period, slowly return to solid foods.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you do a body detox with juice, it's important to use fresh fruits and vegetables for juices. Either use a juicing machine at home as needed or buy the amount of juice you'll drink daily. Fruit juice stays pure for only three days; vegetable juice lasts five days.
  • No matter how healthy you feel, always consult with your physician before starting any kind of body detox program.
