When you apply any type of makeup for a photograph, you want to make sure to apply it very heavy so it will not be washed away from the light of the camera. Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Concealer
  • Foundation
  • Powder
  1. Step 1

Prepare your face for the foundation by washing, exfoliating and toning your face to get rid of any oil on your face. The foundation will have greater staying power if you do not have a build up of oils on your face.

  2. Step 2

Apply a concealer that is two to three shades lighter than your skin tone to any dark areas or blemishes. Concealer placed under your eyes will help hide any circles you may have.

  3. Step 3

Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and is a thick formula that will help further hide any blemishes or dark areas of your skin.

  4. Step 4

Apply a thick coating of the foundation to your face. Add twice as much foundation as you would normally use for an everyday occasion to offset the flash of the camera.

  5. Step 5

Blend in the foundation. Blend the foundation from your chin to your neckline so you have an even color on your face and neck. Rub in the foundation well on the jaw line and hairline so you don't have any spots of extra foundation.

  6. Step 6

Set the foundation with a powder that matches your skin tone. Apply the powder everywhere that you applied foundation, which includes your neck.
