Children and adults love to make Christmas crafts together. The clothespin snowman ornament is wonderful for children to work on because the concept is simple, and it is a safe and creative craft. Share in your children's Christmas spirit by learning how to make a clothespin snowman.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clothespins
  • Craft spools
  • White and black paint
  • Black felt
  • Red and green yarn
  • Black marker
  • Gold cord
  1. Step 1

Determine how many wooden clothespins you need. Paint each clothespin white and set it aside to dry.

  2. Step 2

Get a package of small, wooden spools used for crafts. Remove one spool for each clothespin you have painted. Paint the wooden spools black.

  3. Step 3

Glue a small square of black felt to the top of the clothespin. This forms the brim of the snowman's hat. Take a painted spool and glue it to the felt, to finish the snowman's hat.

  4. Step 4

Take a 3-inch piece of red yarn, and a 3-inch piece of green yarn, and twist them together. Wrap the yarn around the clothespin where the round top meets the long piece to create the snowman's scarf.

  5. Step 5

Use a medium-point black felt marker to draw a face and button dots on the snowman.

  6. Step 6

Obtain a 3-inch piece of gold cord and make a loop. Glue the ends to the back of the snowman's neck so you can hang your snowman from your Christmas tree.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have yarn, you can also use thin ribbon to make a decorative scarf.
