Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two pieces of card stock measuring 5 x 8 inches
  • Scraps of card stock
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Markers
  • Stickers or other embellishments
  1. Step 1

Crease one piece of paper in half, making a card measuring 5.5 inches by 4 inches. Repeat with a second piece of card stock.

  2. Step 2

Use a ruler to measure 1.5 inches down from the top of the folded side of one of the cards. Use the ruler to draw a 1-inch line at a 45-degree angle to the folded edge. Connect the end of the line to the folded edge of the card. This will create a perpendicular triangle. The tip of the triangle will be pointing toward the top of the card.

  3. Step 3

Cut the 45-degree line with the scissors. Fold the triangle on the perpendicular line. Repeat by folding the triangle on the crease line going the other direction. Place triangle back in original position.

  4. Step 4

Open the card. Using a finger, pull the triangle toward the inside of the card. Fold top of triangle toward center of card. This will result in the vase portion of the card.

  5. Step 5

Draw flowers, including stems, on scraps of card stock. Cut flowers out. Glue to inside of vase.

  6. Step 6

Glue a second piece of card stock to the outside of the card. Make sure to line up edges of cards.

  7. Step 7

Decorate your card with markers, stickers and embellishments. Personalize the card with recipient's name and occasion for the card.

Tips & Warnings
  • When gluing flowers into the vase, be careful not to glue on the crease line. Your card will not fold smoothly if the crease is unable to fold correctly.
