Creating balloon animals is no longer a hobby just for clowns. Now, anyone can learn how to make exciting balloon animals and impress young children at their birthday parties. While making them requires time, practice and patience, learning the correct techniques from the beginning will help you make fun balloon animals quickly. After learning the basic twists, learning how to tuck the bubbles is the next step.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Balloons
  • Balloon pump
  • Permanent marker
  1. Step 1

Inflate the correct size of balloon you need for your animal using your hand pump. Size 160 and 260 are common balloon sizes and can be purchased at specialty party supply stores.

  2. Step 2

Make a 2-inch bubble and then make a loop twist for the same length as the bubble.

  3. Step 3

Pull the bubbles apart and tuck the short end of the balloon, with the knot, into the hole. Used with a loop twist, tucking the end of the balloon in will help you create various animal head shapes like a monkey or a poodle.

  4. Step 4

Draw the face of the animal on the balloon with a permanent marker.

  5. Step 5

Create a different shaped animal head by inflating a 2-inch bubble and using a lock twist. This will give you a head shape for an animal with floppy ears.

Tips & Warnings
  • When twisting balloons, hold the balloon in your non-dominant hand and twist the bubbles with your dominant one.
  • Balloons are a choking hazard. Keep all balloons away from small children.
