Things You'll Need:

  • Long balloon (any color)
  1. Step 1

Inflate a long balloon so that there are about 3 or 3 1/2 inches of uninflated balloon left at the end. Hold the knotted end of the balloon and twist a small bubble, about 1 inch long, into the end. If the working end of the balloon feels tight while you are sculpting balloon animals, you can squeeze some of the air into the excess uninflated balloon.

  2. Step 2

Twist a 2-inch bubble just above the smaller bubble, fold the balloon in half at the twist and pinch the balloon at the base of the 2-inch bubble. Twist to create a second 2-inch bubble, fold again at the crease, pinch where the balloons are even with the 2 bubbles and twist again. You should now have 3 2-inch bubbles. Push your final 2-inch bubble through the middle of the other 2 to hold it in place.

  3. Step 3

Make 2 more 1-inch bubbles just above your 3 2-inch bubbles, and repeat the same technique to create another 3 2-inch bubble combination. Fold the balloon together at the center point where the 2 1-inch bubbles are twisted and wrap the very first 1-inch bubble around the long portion of the balloon to secure your 2 birds in place.

  4. Step 4

Squeeze the end of your balloon so that the excess balloon is filled with air and twist a small 1-inch bubble into the end. Wrap the extra balloon around so that it meets below the birds and twist the bubble together with your very first bubble to complete the swing. Use these techniques to create an infinite array of balloon animals.
