If you want a fun and easy craft to do with kids that's not too messy, make a pipe cleaner person. With no glue and no scissors required, it's an easy way to get the kids crafting in no time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Four 12-inch pipe cleaners
  1. Step 1

Fold a 12-inch pipe cleaner in half, leaving one end as a loop to create the base for the pipe cleaner person's head. Twist the two halves of the pipe cleaner around each other until you create a three-inch midsection of the pipe cleaner person. You will have a loop at the top and with two legs below the twisted midsection.

  2. Step 2

Wrap another 12-inch pipe cleaner around your finger in a spring shape. Keep it about the same length as the base of the midsection of the pipe cleaner person. This midsection spring will help to add dimension to the torso.

  3. Step 3

Slide the "legs" through the midsection spring and tighten the top of the midsection just under the base for the head.

  4. Step 4

Secure another pipe cleaner at the middle, just under the top loop, and wrap it around once to create arms. Fold the end of each arm into the body to shorten them and make loops at the end of each for "hands." Twist the "arms" a few times to keep them in place and to add a little dimension to the arms.

  5. Step 5

Bend the "feet" up. Make loops and twist a few times to hold them in place. Keep the sharp ends of the pipe cleaners well to the center so they do not scratch you or the child.

  6. Step 6

Spool another pipe cleaner around itself making a spherical shape. Put this on the top loop, or "neck," of the pipe cleaner person to create the "head" and pinch it closed to secure it at the neck.
